TRAUMA MASA LALU DALAM ANIMASI FRUITS BASKET KARYA SUTRADARA YOSHIHIDE IBATA: KAJIAN SEMIOTIKA ROLAND BARTHES

Abstract
This study aims to describe various forms of past trauma experienced by the characters in the animation Fruits Basket directed by Yoshihide Ibata from Studio TMS/8PAN. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with descriptive analysis. Data in the form of verbal text and visual text were analyzed using the concepts of denotation, connotation, and myth in the perspective of Roland Barthes' semiotics. The results of the study show that the animation Fruits Basket represents various types of past trauma. The trauma is the result of events in the form of physical, verbal, and emotional violence (experienced by the character Yuki), lack of affection from family (Machi), loss of someone precious (Tohru Honda), bullying (Kisa), feelings of guilt towards loved ones (Hatori Sohma), excessive demands that suppress physical and psychological (Saki Hanajima); and guilt for not being able to save someone who is considered important (Kyo). This animation provides many moral messages about mental health that often occur in the real world.

Abstrak
Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan berbagai bentuk trauma masa lalu yang dialami oleh tokoh-tokoh cerita dalam animasi Fruits Basket yang disutradarai oleh Yoshihide Ibata dari Studio TMS/8PAN. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Data-data berupa teks verbal dan teks visual dianalisis menggunakan konsep denotasi, konotasi, dan mitos dalam perspektif semiotika Roland Barthes. Hasil kajian menunjukkan bahwa animasi Fruits Basket merepresentasikan berbagai macam trauma masa lalu. Trauma tersebut sebagai akibat dari peristiwa berupa kekerasan fisik, verbal, dan emosional (dialami tokoh Yuki), kurangnya kasih sayang dari keluarga (Machi), kehilangan seseorang yang berharga (Tohru Honda), perundungan (Kisa), perasaan bersalah pada orang yang dicintai (Hatori Sohma), tuntutan berlebih hingga menekan fisik dan psikis(Saki Hanajima); dan rasa bersalah karena tidak dapat menyelamatkan seseorang yang dianggap penting (Kyo). Animasi ini memberikan banyak pesan moral mengenai kesehatan mental yang sering terjadi di dunia nyata.
